in some ways 7th this season is a greater success than 6th last season.

Fuck!

Will end up like the gooners that hounded out Wenger.

“Yeah yeah, top four every year, great football, but it’s just not perfect enough. Wenger out!”

If this is what we become the more success we get, you can poke it.

What an absolute shit end to a good season.

On paper, it'll look a great season. But having lived through it, and not having any champagne moments, and massive feelings of "what if..." it just feels a bit shit.

There was a big element of bottling it yesterday, but it was also exhaustion. Even Rice looked like he was running through quick sand for the last 15 minutes or so.

He’ll be linking up with England soon, as will the Czechs with their lot. Doesn’t the next season start early because of the winter WC?

Empty your pockets, Sullivan, and check the sofa for any shrapnel.

We haven’t go a better squad than Brighton no, they are around our level. They haven’t exactly finished miles behind us. You pick a best 11 from both squads and I’d say more of theirs gets into it than ours.

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Team for Brighton - Preview - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
Do we even have a better squad then Brighton? Take Rice out of that team and we're probably on the same level. What we've accomplished this season is an absolute miracle

'Last game of the season. Not happy with the result today, still a lot of work ahead (of) us. Hopefully see you next season.'

Vladimir Coufal

Hopefully? He must have got a roasting off Moyes, and it was well earned and overdue

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Team for Brighton - Preview - Official Match Thread
Maybe if Vlasic or Kral played full back they’d get a game ahead of Masuaka?

Both have been shit whenever they’ve played - there’s zero case for them playing more.

Moyes sees them ever day, do you not think if Kral was exceptional in training he’d play? Or the same for one of the kids?

The players were shit yesterday and Moyes called it out, same way they were praised vs Man City.

I've been supporting this team longer than you have and what does it matter if I had been supporting us 2 years.
2022 we have been dire
I put it down to MOYES entirely, it's he that is manager and failure to purchase the right players over 2 windows.
He hasn't played Vlasic in his best position once, given no time to Kral an international, yet given plenty of playing time to the like of Fredericks,Masuaku and even Yarmolenko providing no impact. His lack of promoting any youth this year has backfired once again. Even though no players were bought in. He's not even reactive having no Plan B. Definelty not proactive. The worst at subs in the league always leaving to late if at all.
Us and Man U have been lucky in the league in that our mid table points has gained us European football.
If he has a good summer in recruiting and it's a big if ,his history is not good in this field,he needs to replace 5 players from the bench yesterday, minimum
( plus surely Masuaku ). He wants time off and is now publicly laying the blame at the players, great work . We'll be left with the dross if he hasn't sorted out the first part of recruiting.
It's a fine line between success and failure in the PL.
Look at Everton are they as a squad really that poor compared to us ? If we lost Rice or Bowen to injury or a big sale where will we be ?

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Team for Brighton - Preview - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
I suppose it couldn't have gone better yesterday, it's given Moyes a real kick in the teeth

There were some wafty efforts yesterday, the two Czech boys, Fornals, Antonio, Lanzini, Fabianski.

Vlasic and Kral not good enough to get on the pitch. That's eight players that we need to improve on.

Hopefully, it'll give Moyes the motivation to be bold in the transfer window, the opposite of his performance in January. We've done well out of those players so far, but now is the time to improve in those positions if we want to avoid doing a Wolves/Leicester and dropping back to mid table with no Europe.

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Team for Brighton - Preview - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
Bowen, although shit yesterday, gets away with it because all season he’s given 100% and has been amazing. As has Dec.
Everyone else is expendable and no loss.

Moyes has made his own life very difficult by staying true to a lot of players who wouldn’t get in Brightons team. After this transfer window he’s got no excuses. How shit must our reserves be if they can’t even get on that bench? Moyes is seeing them, day in and day out and it’s obvious that he can’t rate any of them.

There’s no disgrace in losing to a decent Brighton team , the disgrace is how historically we have continued to non perform against them.

Don’t know if we bottled that game, may have just been a step too far with a small squad, but it’s home truths time for a lot of them players and Moyes has to have a brilliant transfer window. Think he’s made a rod for his own back unfortunately.

Agree, woken up feeling deflated about our season and the annoying thing is that we could all see it coming, lack of squad strengthening last summer and January has come back to haunt us in a big way.

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Team for Brighton - Preview - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
Need to look at our season in context IMO, finishing 7th and getting to the later stages of the domestic Cups only tells half the story!

Apart from Norwich you have to go back to Lyon away for the next win, that’s 2 wins in 10 games!!! Hardly surprising we went out of the Europa with that kind of form and if the PL went for another few games, odds on we would be around 10th.

Granted been a long season but I think Moyes and the coaching staff will be concerned, also looks like sides have worked us out, but we don’t really have another way to play unless its clueless, as said before we need a big shake up otherwise it’s a return to relegation dodging next season and that will see the likes of Rice and Bowen out the door and maybe as early as January if they are not already seeing the wheels starting to come off, especially if the recruits (have to assume we will get some!) are not that convincing.

So yeh great “two thirds” of a season is maybe more apt, the last third (when it matters) has been a bit shit

You don't have a case. They are chokers. Choked against Frankfurt and choked yesterday, despite being one up and with the knowledge Man Utd were losing. Chokers. I get it you're happy, easily pleased, bully for you cunt.

Disappointing end to a very, very good season. The players and manager did us proud.

To kick on we have to spend £100 million at least, and not let Bowen and Rice leave. Otherwise I fear another false dawn.

''Leeds fans put some of you so called supporters to shame''

Funny that you should say that, I heard somewhere that they never slate the side or players, never. Even if they lose 0-3 at home there won't be any boos at the final whistle? Don't know if it's true.

Anyway, makes me laugh when some say the fans can't be angry even though the manager is. Yesterday was pathetic, even more so since they would have known Man Utd were losing at half time, it's like this lot don't have the character to take up a challenge, last week 2 up but couldn't see it out. It appears that Norwich are the only side we can beat.

Massively disappointing end to the season. Players bottled it and come up short. I'm off for the summer to forget about these chokers.

Fuck off.
